Strengths:
1) 4 Different Video Games - This is the main benefit to the Proform 450 bike - you get 4 different video games: Blackjack, Texas Hold'Em, Dropping Pounds, and Calorie Destroyer. The games get easier the harder you pedal.
While these are a lot of fun and can help keep your mind off your workout, they're still fairly simple. Don't expect Xbox quality. Still for the price you can't really argue.
2) 10 Built In Programs - The Proform 450 Upright carries 10 personal-trainer designed workouts. These are more focused on achieving a goal like burning calories.
3) Magnetic Resistance - The Proform 450 uses silent magnetic resistance - which is much better than applying tension through by turning a knob on the bike frame. It also helps to keep your bike running more smoothly and quietly.
4) Heart Rate Monitor - The 450 Upright bike gives you feedback on your heart rate. The hand grip sensors are on the side of the console and you just grip them to get your current heart rate.
Weaknesses:
First of all, this is an economy bike. Don't expect the quality or durability of a commercial brand. Some reviewers have complained that the heart rate monitor is not entireley accurate. Also be aware that you can't play the video games when running through one of the 10 built in workouts.
The warranty is also quite short which doesn't give you a lot of protection on your investment. If you don't really care about having video games, you could probably go with a Schwinn instead which offers a longer warranty and better overall construction.
Conclusion:
If you want a simple, affordable upright bike with video games to keep you busy while you workout, you'll probably be very happy with the Proform 450 UR Upright Bike. You get 4 video games that get easier the harder you pedal. Plus the 10 built in workouts also help to keep you interested.
