Pros of the Diamondback 510UB Exercise Bike:
The tilting console and adjustable handlebars are really handy. You can pedal in the normal upright positions – or lean over and race with this option – which adds a little more “customizability” to your bike.
Backlit Easy-to-Read Console
The bright blue console is backlit and easy to read. It shows your stats in large numbers (so no squinting needed as with some other bike consoles).
While it’s on the simpler side, the console is fairly easy to use and comes with a scrolling message board which instructs you how to proceed. The console also comes with a fold-down, unobtrusive magazine rack, which is a nice touch you don’t often get.
iPhone/iPad/iTouch Charging Station
You can charge and play your iphone, ipad or itouch while you cycle with the charging station on top of the console. There are console speakers that play the audio – so you can watch videos or play your favorite tunes while you workout.
Padded, Adjustable Seat
You get a padded seat which is adjustable two ways – forward and back as well as up and down. So you can find the right fit based on your height.
A lot of people want a bike that’s compact for small workout areas. At 41L x 23W x 58H inches, the Diamondback 510UB is pretty compact and would be suitable for smaller workout areas.
Cons of the Diamondback 510UB Exercise Bike:
Poor User Reviews
The reviews on this model have not been good, with people complaining about poor customer service and broken parts:
“Diamondback fitness did not help resolve my problems at all, and that’s the most
frustrating part. It’s their product, and though the customer service rep was
nice on the phone, a company that refuses to stand by a bike that is two days
old is absolutely worthless to me. I was in the market for a lot more fitness
equipment for my home gym, and I will most assuredly not be bying any more of
their equipment–or their parent company Lifecore Fitness” – User Review
“Received in a few days. When opened the package, some styrofoam was broken and 2
plastic pieces were broken. Assembly directions were small and complicated. Took
many hours to assemble. When completed and plugged in, the console would not
work.” – User Review
While the console is easy to read and backlit, to be frank, it’s outdated. Compared to the consoles on lesser-priced Nordic tracks for example, these look like they are in the stone age. Diamondback could really stand to make something a little sleeker, especially at this mid-price point where competition is so tough.
If you’re looking for an affordable upright and like the Diamondback name, you’ll probably be very happy with the Diamondback 510UB exercise bike. You do get some great basics, lots of workout programs and a smooth, quiet bike.
