Lifespan R7000i Recumbent Bike Review – the Pros:

Adjustable Seat with Molded Bottom

With recumbent bikes, the seat is often make-or-break. If the seat is ergonomic, adjustable and comfortable, you’ll have a great workout and enjoy the bike.

If it’s not…well you won’t spend as much time on the bike and probably won’t get your money’s worth.

Lifespan has gone above and beyond with the seat on this bike. It’s easily adjustable forward and back and can be positioned anywhere within a 14 inch range.

It also has a soft molded seat bottom for added comfort and a breathable backrest (so you get cooling air to your back as you cycle).

There are also soft arm rests complete with integrated heart rate sensors – which is something you don’t often find on a recumbent bike.

Finally, Lifespan has also added dual water bottle holders behind the seat with an added storage tray – which is another premium touch you don’t usually find.

Lifespan R7000i Console

Console with Tablet Holder and USB

While the console on this bike is a little dated, there is a shelf for your tablet. So you can place your tablet on the shelf and watch shows or movies as you pedal.

There’s also a USB charging port. So you can plug in and charge your devices as you cycle.

Need some extra challenge? There are also 19 built-in workouts with this bike including weight management, healthy living and sports training programs.

Self-Generating Power

The Lifespan R7000i bike uses self-generating power. So you don’t need to place it beside a plug – you can place the bike anywhere in your home that you want.

You generate electricity with this bike by pedaling. You do this to power both the console as well as to charge your mobile devices with the built-in USB port.

Sync Your Results Online

This bike includes Bluetooth to support Lifespan apps. You can also track and sync your results with apps like MyFitnessPal or Google Fit.

So it’s a great way to see how far you’ve come over time.

Heavy and Stable Feel

One of the things we like about this bike is that it’s extremely solid and stable. There’s a very heavy, commercial-grade feel to it. So you don’t have to worry that it will shake or wobble when you pick up the pace.

Nordictrack R7000i Commercial Recumbent – Any Drawbacks?

The console is bright and easy to read, however it’s a bit simple and dated.

Compare this to the Nordictrack VR25 recumbent for example – which gives you a full-color, HD touch-screen console with tablet holder and streaming world trails – and you’ll see it’s a bit basic.

Still, if you don’t care too much about this, it shouldn’t be a huge issue.

Also, you don’t get as many resistance levels on this bike as some other bikes. Still, 16 resistance levels should be enough for most people.

Bottom Line?

If you’re looking for a premium recumbent bike that was built to give you a super-comfortable ride, you’ll definitely want to consider the Lifespan R7000i recumbent.

It doesn’t have as many console bells and whistles as some recumbent models. The money here really went into the seat design, heavy, substantial feel and proper ergonomics.

Overall it’s a solid recumbent bike that won’t cost you a fortune – covered by an excellent warranty to protect your investment.
