Which is Best For You?
These are both two of the most popular indoor cycling bikes on the market this year with features you don’t usually find with other indoor cycles – like incline/decline, handweights in the console and even full-color consoles with web browsers!
Both bikes also come with vertically and horizontally adjustable seats with ergonomic racing handlebars.
So how are they different? And which bike is best for you?
Well, there are some key differences you should know about if you’re trying to choose between these two bikes. Let’s take a look at how they compare:
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Pro – Price
The Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike is the more affordable of the two bikes coming in around $500 less than the Proform Bike with Free Shipping here.
The Proform Studio Pro runs a bit more as it’s brand new and has a few features that even the Nordictrack bike doesn’t carry. You can get it for under $2000 with Free Shipping to your home here.
So is the Studio Pro bike worth the extra money? Let’s look at it a bit closer.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Bike Pro – Console
Both consoles are full-color and touch-screen with built-in web browser so you can surf the net as you bike.
They both also come with tablet holders above the console and incline/resistance controls on the handlebars.
Here’s the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro console:
And here’s the Proform Studio Bike Console:
As you can see they both look very similar to each other. The main difference is that the Proform Studio bike now has a swiveling console.
So you can get off the bike, turn the console and continue to train (for example, if you’re doing the iFit Coach exercise classes).
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Pro Bike – iFit
iFit Coach gives you all kinds of fun stuff to do – from online tracking to tracking your every day activity (with the iFit activity tracker) to giving you customized nutrition and even sleep recommendations.
It also lets you bike trails all over the world and watch real landmarks pass you by in the console screen for some virtual reality fun.
However there is a key difference here – iFit is optional with the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike. It is NOT optional with the Proform Studio Bike.
You have to purchase an iFit membership with the Proform Studio bike to get access to the daily online fitness classes.
Since it’s only $15 a month, a lot of people don’t mind – they like the value that iFit gives them.
But if you’re not sure about the iFit option, you may want to go with the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike which (for now anyways) does not require iFit.
Nordictrack Grand Tour vs Proform Studio Bike – Handweights
While you do get handweights included with both bikes, the Proform Studio Pro bike comes with 3 pound weights whereas the Nordictrack comes with 5 pound weights.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Bike Pro – Workouts
Both bikes give you built-in workouts. However the Proform has something that the Nordictrack does not – specialized Tour De France workouts.
Ride key sections of the Tour De France with these workouts. You can bike through a mountain stage or speed through a time trial. This is a great way for cyclists to add extra challenge to their workouts.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Pro – Incline/Decline
The Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike gives you up to 10% incline and 10% decline – which is excellent.
However the Proform Studio Pro bike goes one better with up to 20% incline and 20% decline. So you have a few more training options with the Proform model.
So what’s the bottom line when it comes to the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs Proform Studio Bike Pro?
Well, they both have similar consoles and features including adjustable seats and handlebars as well as incline and decline.
The real difference is that you get daily iFit fitness classes on the Proform bike – but you do need to purchase an iFit subscription with this bike. Also you get a few more features like the swivel console and the higher incline/decline.
You don’t need to buy an iFit subscription with the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike. You can always wait and add it later if you want. Also, you get slightly better handweights.
So at the end of the day it really depends on what’s you’re looking for, your preferences and workout goals.
