Which is Best – Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro or S22i Bike?
These are 2 of Nordictrack’s most popular, indoor training bikes on the market right now.
They both give you a lot more value than other bikes – including incline and decline for a more realistic biking experience.
You also get full-color HD consoles with iFit Coach. So you can bike all over the world – from Paris to Hawaii – and watch the scenery pass you by as you ride.
Or if you want more of a calorie-burning challenge, take a high-energy studio cycling class directly from your console.
Both bikes also come with 3 pound handweights included for free – so you can build in some upper-body training to your workouts.
So with all these similarities, you might be tempted to think that they’re almost the same bikes. However there are some key differences between them that you should know.
This post will go over the 5 key differences between the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i bikes to help you decide which is best for you.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i – Price
There Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro is a bit more affordable than the S22i model coming in around $1499 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack Commercial S22i is from the “Commercial line” with a higher-grade of construction made for frequent, more experienced cyclists.
You can find it around $1999 with Free Shipping here. So what do you get for the extra money on the Nordictrack S22i bike?
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i – Console
The consoles are both full-color, HD and touch screen. They also both stream iFit workouts.
However there are some key differences to consider. The Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro console is smaller at 10 inches across – as seen below:
The Nordictrack S22i Studio Cycle has a much larger console screen at 22 inches across – as seen below:
So it can be a lot more enjoyable to watch the iFit scenery on the larger screen on the Nordictrack S22i bike.
As you can see, they both have speakers with volume control and incline/resistance controls in the handlebars. However the S22i is a lot more finished looking. The arm bars on the S22i are also padded for extra comfort.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i – Tablet Holder
Another thing you may have noticed above is that the Grand Tour Pro has a tablet holder above the console. So you can attach your tablet and surf the net or watch YouTube videos as you ride.
This is really handy and a lot of people enjoy doing this.
The Nordictrack S22i does not have a tablet holder above the console – as the console window is more upright – right in front of your eyes.
Putting the console more upright in front of the eyes has the effect of giving you a more realistic training experience, especially as you ride the different world trails on iFit.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i – Incline
While you get incline and decline on both the Grand Tour Pro and S22i bikes, there is a slight difference.
On the Grand Tour Pro you get up to a 10 degree incline. On the Nordictrack S22i you get up to 20 degrees of incline.
(You’ll get up to 10 degrees of decline on both bikes).
So you have a higher incline on the S22i bike – which helps you to add extra challenge and crosstraining to your workouts.
Nordictrack S22i vs Grand Tour Pro – Rotating Console
In addition to being much larger, the Nordictrack S22i console has another major benefit over the console on the Grand Tour Pro – it rotates!
You can get off the bike and rotate the console 180 degrees!
This is great for workouts where you want to finish the workout off the bike (like some of the iFit stretching, weight training and yoga workouts).
The console on the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro does not rotate.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i – Resistance
The Nordictrack S22i comes with 22 resistance levels – which is more than sufficient for most people.
However the Grand Tour Pro has slightly more – coming in at 26 digital resistance levels.
So there’s a bit more room for challenge on the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro, which is surprising since the Nordictrack S22i is technically the higher-end model.
The Nordictrack S22i seat and pedals are compatible with standard road bike seats and pedals. So you can change them out if you want.
The Grand Tour Pro does not offer this option – you can’t change out the pedals or the seat.
So if you’re a die-hard cyclist who likes your own seat and/or pedals, then the S22i bike is the better bet here.
Also, the Nordictrack S22i bikes is built a bit tougher with a Commercial-grade steel frames and enhanced corrosion resistance. It’s also a bit heavier (as you can probably tell from looking at the pictures of each). This helps to make it a bit more stable.
So it would probably hold up a bit better under longer, more intense workouts.
So which is best when choosing between the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro vs S22i bikes?
Both bikes are excellent values – giving you more than similar brands at their price points including incline/decline, full-color consoles, free weights and iFit Coach.
The Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro has the benefit of a few more resistance levels and the tablet holder on top. Plus it comes in for a few hundred dollars less – making it easier on the budget.
However the Nordictrack S22i gives you a much larger console screen, a heavier, more stable base, higher-grade construction and a higher incline for more challenging workouts.
So at the end of the day it comes down to what you want.
