Wondering which is best for you?
Nordictrack introduced the Nordictrack S22i studio bike last year and it flew off the shelves – they literally could not keep it in stock over the holidays. They then introduced the similar Commercial S15i Studio Bike model for 2019.
Both bikes have incline and decline to add a more immersive crosstraining experience to your workouts. They both also include a pair of free 3 lb handweights that are easily stored in the console for upper body training.
One of the best parts?
You get impressive full color, HD, touch-screen consoles on both bikes. You can watch real-life world trails with iFit Coach right from your console. Or take a studio cycling class from the comfort of your own home!
Both bikes also give you vertically and horizontally adjustable seats with multi-position racing handlebars and oversized, ergonomic pedals.

Nordictrack S15i vs S22i – Console
Both consoles are multi-color, HD and touch-screen sensitive. So you can enjoy your workout stats in full color as you cycle. You can also watch the iFit Coach world scenery and livestream workout classes in full color on either bike screen.
The difference here is the size of the console window.
Here’s the Nordictrack S15i console at 14 inches across:
And here’s the console on the Nordictrack S22i at 22 inches across:
So the Nordictrack S22i console is a bit bigger. In fact it’s the largest console screen that Nordictrack makes. It’s basically like having a built-in, interactive TV right in your console.
Just to give you another perspective, here’s the Nordictrack S15i console when turned 180 degrees:
And here’s the Nordictrack S22i bike console when turned 180 degrees:
The Nordictrack S22i Studio bike gives you 24 resistance levels. The Nordictrack S15i bike comes with 22 resistance levels.
This isn’t a huge difference – but it does mean you have a bit more room to grow with the Nordictrack S22i model.
So what’s the bottom line when comparing the Nordictrack S15i vs S22i studio bikes?
Surprisingly there aren’t too many huge differences between them.
They both give you the same amount of incline and decline (20% and 10% respectively) and work with iFit Coach to give you streaming workouts.
They both come with the same heavy-grade, commercial steel construction and inertia-enhanced flywheel for added stability.
They’re also both compatible with road bike seats and pedals – so you can change out the seats or pedals on either bike.
Basically, while there are a few differences in resistance levels, the main difference between them is the size of the console.
The Nordictrack S22i has the larger screen than the S15i model (22 inches vs 14 inches). It’s not a huge difference – but just like TV screen sizes, a lot of people want the biggest screen possible.
On the other hand the Nordictrack S15i bike is the more affordable of the two – making it more attractive from a budget perspective.
So at the end of the day it comes down to what you want, your budget and workout preferences.
No matter which bike you choose however, you’re still getting a much more immersive training experience than other studio cycles give you – and at a much more affordable price. So you can’t go too far wrong with either bike.
