Proform TDF Bike Review – A Good Choice For You?
The Proform TDF bike is the most affordable TDF model in the line up – and new for this year.
While there have been variations of different TDF (or “Tour De France”) bikes throughout the years, Proform has thankfully simplified it down to 2 models – the TDF and the TDF Pro.
The Proform TDF gives you the best of both worlds.
You can train as much or as little as you want – with the option to add iFit Coach and ride trails all over the world.
Or ride through a mountain trail on the Tour de France with 24 built-in TDF apps.
You also get a more realistic training experience with up to 15% incline and 15% decline.
Or train your upper body with the free 3 pound handweights included.

Proform TDF Bike Review – Key Benefits:
Realistic Training With Incline and Decline
You don’t often find a home studio bike with incline and decline these days – so it’s very cool to find this on the Proform TDF bike.
You get up to 15% incline and even 15% decline on this bike – which you can change automatically either from the console or from the hand controls.
This lends a more realistic training experience to your workout.
Plus, if you use it with the iFit Coach workouts (see below), the bike will automatically incline and decline to match the terrain you’re cycling for a more virtual reality training feel.
Cycle the World with iFit Coach
This bike comes with the option to add iFit Coach. With iFit Coach you can choose from thousands of world workouts. You can cycle all over the world and watch the actual scenery pass you by in your tablet screen for a more virtual reality training experience!
With iFit you can also track your workouts over time, set new goals, get new personalized workout programs and more. It’s a great way to track your progress and push yourself to new heights.
Don’t want to cycle alone?
No problem. You can also take guided workouts where a personal trainer will take you through famous biking trails, coaching you through your workout and pointing out interesting landmarks along the way.
Swiveling Console with Tablet Holder
The console on this bike – while fairly simple – does something pretty cool. It swivels 180 degrees.
It also has a tablet holder above the main console window. So you can attach your tablet and connect to iFit Coach – or just surf the net – as you cycle.
You can also swivel the tablet to continue your workouts off the bike (since iFit Coach has thousands of other studio workouts you can take as well).
The console also comes with an auxiliary music port with 2-inch dual speakers. So you can plug in your phone and play your favorite tunes as you ride.
Free 3-Pound Handweights
The Proform Tour De France bike also comes with a free pair of 3 pound handweights that you can use in the iFit workouts for extra crosstraining.
These fit easily into the holders under the console for convenient storage. So you can build in some upper body strength training during your workout
Adjust the Bike To Fit You!
The TDF Proform bike is very versatile and easily adjustable to fit your body. It comes with an ergonomic, padded seat which you can adjust vertically or horizontally. You can also change it out for your own personal seat if you prefer.
There’s also multi-position, adjustable handlebars to find your best upper body fit. The handlebars are adjustable vertically and horizontally.
Inertia Enhanced Flywheel
This bike comes with an inertia-enhanced flywheel to give you a more smooth, steady feel while pedalling. A faster gear ratio and effective weight placement also help to give you a more natural striding experience.
Proform TDF Review – Any Drawbacks?
While iFit Coach is optional on this bike, if you want to try it, you’ll need to get an iFit subscription online. Plus you’ll also need your own tablet to connect to iFit as you cannot connect through the bike console (like you can with some of Proform’s other bikes).
The console on this bike is also pretty basic – although if you get iFit and connect through your tablet you do get a lot better feedback (see pic below).
If you’re looking for a bike that gives you a more realistic training experience – and one that won’t break the bank, the Proform TDF is worth considering.
It gives you all of the training tools you need to challenge yourself – like the incline and decline, resistance levels and built-in Tour de France workouts.
However you also get the option to add even more training workouts with iFit Coach if you want. And with the tablet holder above the console, you can add some fun with Netflix shows or YouTube videos as you cycle.
