Proform TDF Pro Bike Review – A Good Buy For You?
The Proform TDF Pro bike is the premium model in the new Tour De France bike series.
It gives you several upgrades over the regular TDF exercise bike – including a full-color, HD, touch-screen display.
This makes it a lot more fun to connect with iFit Coach and cycle trails all over the world or take a high-energy cycling class from your home.
The TDF Pro bike also has a higher incline and deeper decline than the regular Tour De France bike – giving you a more realistic training experience.
Plus with more resistance levels you get even more ways to challenge yourself on this bike.
So is the Proform TDF Pro bike a good buy for you?

Proform TDF Pro Review – Key Benefits:
Large, Full-Color, HD Touchscreen Console
This is like having a large, touch-screen TV built right into your console. You can swipe and see your workout results in full color.
Or connect directly with iFit Coach and cycle trails all over the world – from the Grand Canyon or the Swiss Alps to specific portions of the Tour De France race (more on iFit below).
There’s also a built-in, dual-speed console fan that you don’t get on the regular TDF model to keep you cool. And you can also plug in your phone to the auxiliary music port and listen to your favorite workout music through the built-in speakers.
Another cool thing about this console?
It swivels 180 degrees.
This is great for those time when you want to get off the bike and continue your workout.
Upgrade Your Training With Incline and Decline
Get a more realistic outdoor training experience on the Tour de France Pro bike with the power incline and decline.
You get up to 20% incline and even 20% decline on this bike – which you can change automatically either from the console or from the hand controls.
Plus, if you use it with the iFit Coach workouts (see below), the bike will automatically incline and decline to match the terrain you’re cycling for a more virtual reality training feel.
Explore the World with iFit Coach
Add a new dimension of training with iFit Coach on this bike. With iFit Coach you can choose from thousands of HD Video world workouts. You can cycle all over the world and watch the actual scenery pass you by in your console screen for a more virtual reality training experience!
Explore the Grand Canyon or cycle through the streets of Paris. Or watch first-hand as you cycle through different portions of the Tour de France.
Don’t want to ride alone?
No problem. You can also take guided workouts where a personal trainer will take you through famous biking trails, coaching you through your workout and pointing out interesting landmarks along the way.
And don’t worry if you can’t get to the gym.
You can also take a high-energy cycling class directly from your bike with iFit Coach. The instructor will lead you through the class controlling the bike automatically for you if you wish. This is interactive training at it’s best.
iFit coach is usually a subscription based service. However if you get the TDF Pro bike through the Manufacturer, you can get a Free 1 year subscription to iFit coach. So you can try it out for a full year to see if you like it!
Free 3-Pound Handweights
The Proform Tour De France Pro bike also comes with a free pair of 3 pound handweights that you can use in the iFit workouts for extra crosstraining.
These fit easily into the holders under the console for convenient storage. So you can build in some upper body strength training during your workout
Adjust the Bike To Fit You!
The Tour De France Pro bike is easily adjustable to fit your body. The handlebars adjust vertically and horizontally. They also rotate for a comfortable upright or aggressive drop position.
The bike also comes with an ergonomic, padded seat which you can adjust vertically or horizontally. You can also change it out for your own personal seat if you prefer.
Inertia Enhanced Flywheel
This bike comes with an inertia-enhanced flywheel to give you a more smooth, steady feel while pedalling. A faster gear ratio and effective weight placement also help to give you a more natural striding experience.
Proform Tour De France Pro Review – Any Drawbacks?
While you can try iFit Coach for a full year for free on this bike, if you decide to continue with iFit after that you will pay a small monthly fee. You don’t need to have iFit to use this bike – it works just fine without it. But it’s still something to be aware of.
Also, this isn’t a problem with the bike itself. However Proform has put out several different Tour De France bikes over the years – all with slightly different variations of the incline, iFit Coach, console etc.
So it can get confusing if you’re trying to review a specific bike as there can be a lot of conflicting information on it due to the old models having similar names.
Proform seems to have settled on just 2 Tour De France bikes now and hopefully they’ll keep it that way for the foreseeable future.
If you want a bike that makes you feel like you’re actually cycling through portions of the Tour De France – or anywhere else in the world – you’ll love the Proform TDF Pro bike.
With the iFit Coach cycling classes and world trails, 24 built-in Tour De France workouts, super-high incline and decline, it’s probably overkill for the occasional cyclist.
However serious cyclists and athletes will probably love this bike as it gives you everything you need to take your training to a whole new level.
