Sole B94 Upright Bike – Right For You?
If you’re looking for a premium upright bike with proper seat cushioning and ergonomics, you’ve probably come across the Sole B94 upright.
It’s actually Sole’s most affordable upright bike, coming in under $800. It also has the famous Sole inward pedal slant that more closely mimics your body’s natural movement.
How does it stack up? And is it the best value for you?

Sole B94 Upright Bike Review – Pros:
All the Sole bikes are built with a focus on proper ergonomics and taking the strain off of your hips, joints and back. The pedals are made with a 2 degree inward slant to keep your body in a more neutral position. That makes these bikes great for people with sport injuries, strains or joint injuries. It also makes for more comfort AFTER your workout as well!
Huge, Bright, Backlit Console Window
This is one of the largest console windows at this price point and it’s extremely easy to read. You get constant feedback on your stats and you also get a visual graph of your exertion level. There’s also a fan built into the console to keep you cool and convenient one-touch resistance buttons up and down the sides of the console.
Seat is Adjustable Both Vertically and Horizontally
You can adjust the seat up and down. You can also adjust it closer or further away from the console – to get a better fit based on your body size and height. The handlebars are also adjustable – another nice touch that adds a bit more comfort.
Pulse Grip and Wireless Heart Rate Monitor:
You can either use the hand grips to take your pulse and stay in your target fat-burning zone – or you can use the wireless heart rate chest strap. Many people like the wireless option because it’s more accurate.
iPod Dock with Sound System and Earphone port
You can play your favorite tunes on your iPod through the built-in speakers. You can also use the earphone port if you don’t want to make a lot of noise – the earphone jack isn’t usually included with other bikes, so it’s a nice touch here.
Commercial Grade Fit and Finish
One thing I love about Sole bikes is that they just have a more professional look and feel than other similarly priced brands. The fit and finish on this bikes looks more like a commercial product than a department store bike.
Sole B94 Upright Bike Review – Cons:
While there aren’t a lot of real weaknesses, you don’t get a lot in terms of bells and whistles on this bike. There are only 10 built-in workouts but no line tracking like you get with Nordictrack’s iFit LIVE. If you want that kind of thing, you may want to check out the Commercial VR 25 bike with iFit instead.
Also, the fan on this bike is not super-powerful. It’s more of a light, breeze, not a strong wind, which may or may not matter to you.
If you’re looking for an upright bike that gives you more of a commercial grade look and feel – without the commercial price tag – the Sole B94 is well worth considering.
It gives you proper ergonomics and design for a more comfortable workout. You also get a sleek look and finish with a huge console and some fun stuff like an iPod dock and cooling fanthrown in. Good Value if you can get it under $800.
