Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro Review – The Pros:
The Grand Tour Pro bike inclines and declines 10% to give you a more realistic biking experience. It also integrates with iFit to simulate the actual trail you’re riding for some virtual reality fun (more on iFit below)
And if you’re taking an iFit Livestream fitness class, it will automatically incline and decline for you as well throughout the class to give you some extra challenge.
Bike Famous World Trails with iFit
iFit is a very cool new technology that gives you a completely interactive cycling experience. It will track your workouts over time so you can see how far you’ve come and set new goals.
But probably the coolest things to do with iFit are the built-in HD workouts. You can bike famous trails all over the world – from the Swiss Alps to the Grand Canyon.
Personal trainers will lead you through the workout, pushing you to work hard and also pointing out interesting landmarks along the way.
You can also map out your own trail to run using the Googlemaps feature – and watch as actual landmarks pass you by in the console screen for some virtual reality fun.
Can’t get to the gym?
No problem. Stream high-energy workout sessions right from your console!
Popular personal trainers will lead you through different cycling exercises controlling your bike’s incline, decline and resistance in real time.
You can also get crosstraining workouts where you’ll also do stretching, yoga, weight training and more. Basically with iFit you’ll never run out of new things to do on this bike.
3 Pound Handweights
You also get a pair of 3 pound handweights included with the bike for free. These fit into the console area for easy storage. So you can easily build in some upper body strength training intervals during your workout
Extra-Large Full-Color Console
You get an extra-large 10 inch, full-color, HD, touch-screen console with this bike (the console is larger than the Grand Tour model). So you can see your workout stats in full color.
This also makes the iFit workouts and world scenery much more enjoyable to watch.
The console also has an auxiliary music port with built-in speakers. So you can plug in your phone and play your workout music through the built-in console speakers.
26 Resistance Levels
The Grand Tour Pro comes with more resistance than the Grand tour model – 26 levels (vs 24). So you have more room to grow as your fitness level improves over time.
Racing Style Handlebars with Controls
The ergonomic Racing Style handlebars also come with incline or resistance controls in the handlebars. So you don’t have to reach up to the console to do it and disrupt your workout.
Tablet Holder Above the Console
There’s also a pivoting tablet holder above the console. So you can attach your tablet and surf the web as you bike. Or just use your tablet to watch movies or your favorite TV shows for extra entertainment!
The tablet holder is also adjustable – so you can move the tablet to the most comfortable viewing angle for you.
The padded, oversized seat is easily adjustable both forward and back. So you can find the right fit for your height. And the ergonomic pedals also comes with foot straps to keep your feet comfortably in place during your workout.
Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro – The Cons
iFit Coach is a yearly subscription service. However as of this writing, if you get the Nordictrack Grand tour Pro bike through the Manufacturer you can get a 1 year membership to iFit Coach included.
So you can try iFit out for the full year to see if you like it.
Also, the seat and pedals are not compatible with standard road bike seats and pedals. You can’t change them out for your own as some cycling enthusiasts like to do.
If you’re looking for a commercial-grade indoor training bike with all the bells and whistles, you’ll love the Nordictrack Grand Tour Pro bike.
It’s built to give you a more realistic training experience that closely mimics the feel of your outdoor bike – from the racing handlebars to the incline/decline options to the iFit trails that show you real scenery as you cycle.
Compared to the Grand Tour bike model the PRO version gives you a larger console screen, more resistance levels, more built-in workouts and a slightly heavier unit weight for added stability.
So basically it’s the ultimate indoor training bike.
