Proform 6.0 Recumbent Review
Is the Proform 6.0 ES Recumbent Bike A Good Buy?

The Proform 6.0 ES is one of Proforms newest recumbent models.
It seems that Proform is not making as many bikes – but focusing on offering one or two really well built bikes with all of the features people want (which is great as it’s much less confusing for buyers).
The 6.0 has some solid features including iFit LIVE compatibility, iPod dock, step-through design and padded, adjustable seat. It also comes in at a very attractive price point under $500.
So is it right for you? Here’s a review of the pros and cons to help you decide.
Basics:
Price: $499 + Free Shipping
Resistance: 20 Levels
Built-In Workouts: 22
User Weight Capacity: 300 lbs
iPod Dock
iFit LIVE Compatible
Warranty: 5-Year Frame Warranty and a 1 Year Parts & Labor Warranty
Proform 6.0 ES Recumbent Bike – Pros:
Adjustable, Padded Seat With Lumbar Support
The oversized seat is surprisingly comfortable for a starter bike. You can adjust it easily forward and back.
And there’s also lumbar support which is especially good for those with lower back issues.
Step-Through Design
This bike has a step-through design – which means you don’t get that hulking barrier you often have to step over in many recumbent bikes. This makes getting on and off the bike much easier.
iFit LIVE Compatible
iFit LIVE connect your bike to the Internet using the wireless in your home.
From there you can download new workouts to your bike, track and view your workouts over time and even map out new trails to ride using Googlemaps.
This adds a whole new dimension to your fitness routine and can turn a dull workout into a challenging, fun experience.
Backlit Console
The console on this bike is bright and backlit which makes it easy to read your workout stats. There’s also an iPod dock with speakers so you can plus in your iPod and listen to your favorite tunes while you ride.
Heart Rate Sensor on Side Handrails
You can stay in your target fat-burning zone by grasping the side handrails instead of reaching up to the console, which is a nice touch.
Proform 6.0 ES Recumbent Bike – Cons:
iFit LIVE Module Required
While you don’t need iFit to use this bike (there are still lots of built-in workouts and the iPod dock), if you do want to use iFit you’ll need to buy the iFit LIVE module (which is about $99). You can get both the bike and module direct from the manufacturer here – but again, you don’t need iFit at once to use this bike.
Smaller Console Window
While the console is bright, it’s also on the smaller side. That’s not unusual for a starter bike, just something to be aware of.
No Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
The only heart rate monitor on this bike is through the hand sensors. Again, this isn’t unusual for the price point – just something to know before you buy.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for an affordable Proform recumbent that won’t break the bank – but still gives you some decent entertainment options – you’ll probably like the Proform 6.0 ES bike.
While it isn’t a commercial machine, you really can’t beat this price – and you do get a lot of upgraded features like the backlit console, iFit LIVE and iPod dock.
Where To Buy and Save
You can save on the Proform 6.0 ES Recumbent bike (and get the iFit module as well) direct from the Manufacturer here. They’re also currently offering Free Shipping- which will save you about $100
