2-In-1 Machine

If you’re not sure whether you want a recumbent or an elliptical – this machine is the perfect choice since you get both. You can use is as an exercise bike – or just make a quick adjustment to the pedals and console and voila – it’s an elliptical trainer.

This is great if you like to challenge your body with different exercises or if you have multiple people in your home who like to do different workout routines.

Improved Seat Back

For the latest model, Proform improved the seat back. There’s more flexibility to adjust it to suit your height.

And the seat back is now mesh – which allows more air to get through to your back, keeping you cooler during your workout.

Tablet Holder Above the Console

Proform added a bracket for your tablet above the console. So you can watch your favorite movies or TV shows as you workout – whether you’re biking or crosstraining!

iFit Coach Compatible

Proform Hybrid Trainer Review – Cons

The stride on this elliptical is a bit short – most people find that they prefer an 18 to 20 inch stride. So the 15 inch stride may not work their leg muscles as well. Then again, this is the typical stride for an elliptical at this price point.

If you want an elliptical bike with a longer stride, you may want to consider the Hybrid Trainer PRO model – which has a 17-inch stride.

The warranty could also be longer on this machine as well. Again however this is the typical warranty that you find for most machines at this price point.

Also keep in mind that the iFit subscription is extra and you’ll need your tablet to see the virtual reality scenery with iFit (you won’t be able to view it through the console).

Bottom Line?

The Proform Hybrid Trainer elliptical bike gives you the best of both worlds – you get a running workout with the elliptical and a cycling workout with the bike. And it comes in under $400, which is a fantastic price.

While it’s still a starter machine, if you don’t care about having all the bells and whistles, this one is definitely worth considering.
