Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro Comparison
Which is Best For You?
Trying to compare the Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro exercise bike?

Both are higher-end Airdyne models. The Airdyne models are what is known as dual action bikes – you can work both your upper and lower body on them.
With these bikes, you don’t get a set number of resistance levels – you create your own resistance by how hard you pedal. So in theory you have virtually unlimited resistance levels on one of these bikes.

Both the Schwinn Airdyne AD6 and Pro have similar features like the upper body arm bars, wind resistance and padded, adjustable seats. But there are several key differences between them – and a few that are not so obvious from a first look.
Here’s a rundown of the main differences between these two bikes to help you choose the best bike for you.

Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro – Price
The Airdyne AD6 is the more affordable version of the two – and the one that’s been out the longest. It comes in around $599 with Free Shipping here.
The Airdyne Pro is the more premium, souped-up Airdyne model. But it’s still quite affordable – it comes in around $999 with Free Shipping here. So is the Airdyne Pro worth the extra money?

Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro Console
The consoles are quite different on these two bikes. The AD6 console is much more basic and a little harder to read:

The Schwinn Airdyne Pro console is a bit larger and easier to read. It also adds a Tachometer which is a great way to get motivated to go harder during your workout (just to push the needle up):

Schwinn AD6 vs Pro – Workouts
The AD6 bike does not come with any built-in workouts. The Airdyne Pro gives you 9 built-in programs including high intensity training programs (or HIIT) as well as time, calorie, miles or kilometer programs
So if you need some extra workout challenge these programs are a great option to have.
Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro – Arms
Some people have complained in the past about the Airdyne bike arms (specifically the AD6 bike) being too short – especially for shorter users. However the Airdyne Pro arms seems to be longer and they have multi-grip options so you can place your hands either vertically or horizontally while you workout.

Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro – Solid, Stable Feel
The AD6 is a good home bike – but the Pro model has a bit more of a solid feel with a reinforced frame and arms and a larger, perimeter-weighted flywheel. You just feel that it has more substance to it when you ride it. So if you’re planning on heavier user of the bike, you may prefer the Pro model.

Schwinn Airdyne AD6 vs Pro – Pedals
The Airdyne AD6 bike has standard bike pedals with straps. However the Pro bike pedals are a bit more professional with a better grip.
Bottom Line?
The Schwinn Airdyne AD6 and Airdyne Pro give you the ability to work both upper and lower body and get unlimited resistance levels.
However the Airdyne Pro does give you quite a few perks over the AD 6 model including a much better, easier-to-read console, better pedals, more stable feel and upgraded arms.
Then again the AD6 has been a classic for year and comes in at a fantastic price. So it really boils down to what you’re looking for in a home exercise bike.
