Schwinn IC4 Bike Review – the Pros:
Upgraded Backlit Console
One drawback with many of Schwinn’s cheaper bikes is that they come with non-backlit consoles. This can make it really hard to see your workout stats.

The Schwinn IC4 upgrades to a new, slightly larger backlit console – which makes it easier to track your numbers as you ride.
The console shows a constant display of your time, distance, calories and RPM’s as you ride. While it’s still fairly basic for a console, it’s still a huge upgrade over Schwinn’s other models.
Tablet Holder Above the Console
You also have an integrated device holder above the console. So you can attach your tablet and surf the web or watch Netflix, Hulu or YouTube as you ride.
Bluetooth Connectivity
The IC4 bike comes with Bluetooth connectivity – which you don’t get on Schwinn’s other models. So you can connect with popular cycling apps like Zwift and Explore the world to ride trails all over the world.
If you want more of an interactive cycling experience this is a very cool way to get it without spending a lot of money.
Upgraded Handlebars
Schwinn also upgraded the handlebars on this model, making them thicker and softer. So it’s more comfortable for longer workouts.
The handlebars are also curved with multiple grip positions. So you can choose a grip that feels comfortable for you.
You can also adjust them both vertically and horizontally to suit your preference.
Adjustable Seat
In addition to the handlebars, the seat is also adjustable both vertically and horizontally.

Wireless Heart Rate Monitoring
This bike will also work with a wireless heart rate monitor. Plus if you get the Schwinn IC4 through the Manufacturer here, you’ll get a Free wireless arm heart rate monitor included with your bike.
Magnetic Resistance with 100 Micro-Resistance Levels
The resistance on this bike is changed by turning the knob in front of the console. With 100 micro-resistance levels, you have a lot of room to grow with this bike.
Schwinn IC4 Review – The Cons:
Lightweight
At only 106 pounds when assembled, this is fairly lightweight for an indoor bike. It’s not going to give you the stability or heavy, substantial feel of a commercial indoor training bike.
And it’s extra slim – which is great for saving space. But some people might feel like there’s not enough bike to support them.
Manual Resistance
While you do get lots of resistance levels on this bike – some people don’t like the manual resistance knob and would prefer a power resistance controls on the console – a feature you usually find on mid-level to commercial-grade bikes.
New on the Market
While this isn’t really a huge concern, the IC4 bike is new on the market. So it doesn’t have a lot of user feedback or reviews yet.
Bottom Line?
The Schwinn IC4 indoor cycling bike is a premium starter bike from Schwinn.
You get an easier-to-read, larger console than Schwinn’s other bikes. The handlebars and resistance levels are also upgraded for a more comfortable workout overall.
Plus with the Bluetooth connectivity and tablet holder, you can easily go online and stream different workout app programs through your tablet for more challenge.
While it’s a bit lightweight and basic, if you really like the Schwinn name and want an affordable cycling bike, it’s definitely worth considering.
