Vision R70 Recumbent Bike Review
Pros and Cons of the Vision R70 Recumbent Bike

The Vision 70 Recumbent is a high-end, commercial-grade bike from a well-respected name in the business.
Although Vision isn’t exactly well-known for their exercise bikes, the Vision R70 does have some excellent comfort features.
For example, the simple, step-thru design makes it easy to get on and off the bike.
The Club Comfort Arc seat gives you adjustable lumbar support for your back and easily adjusts both forward and back.
Plus the bike is self-powered. So you can place it anywhere in your home that you want – you don’t need to be near a plug outlet.

Vistion R70 Recumbent Review – Key Benefits:
Adjustable Lumbar Support
The seat on this bike was built for added comfort. It adjusts both horizontally and vertically. Plus you also get adjustable lumbar support for your back.
You can also grasp the EKG sensors on either side of the seat to get a heart rate reading at any time – which is a lot more comfortable than having to reach up to the console to do it.
Easy, Step-Thru Design
The R70 is designed with a heavy-gauge step-thru fame that gives you easy access to the seat. So you don’t have to worry about tripping over high barriers when getting on the seat
Remote Toggle Controls
There are also resistance controls near the heart rate grips on either side of your seat. So you can change your resistance without having to reach up to the console to do it.
Sprint 8
The bike comes with Sprint 8. This is a unique HIIT training workout that is designed to give you maximum fat-burning in minimum time.
In just 20 minutes per workout, the program will guide you into 8 different high-intensity-training intervals. These are designed to maximize fat-burning both during and after your session.
In fact according to studies done by Johnson health (the company that owns and manufactures Vision), Sprint 8 exercisers burned up to 27% of their body fat in just 8 weeks without changing their diets at all – which is amazing.
Self Powered
The R70 recumbent bike is self powered with a two-stage generator system. It does not need to be plugged in. So you can place the bike anywhere you want in your room, which is a nice touch.
Vision R70 Recumbent Bike Review – Any Drawbacks?
While the R70 is well made, solid and comfortable, it just falls short in a few areas.
The console is a dot-matrix style and, while easy-to-read, looks pretty out-dated when you compare it to the full-color, HD, touch-screen console you have on bikes like the Nordictrack VR25 (which is also half the price).

There’s no fan in the console or iPhone dock – or even a charging station like you have on so many recumbent bikes today. This bike just needs an update to bring it today’s bike standards.
Also, while Vision bikes used to be compatible with Passport (which is a player you can use to add some virtual reality trail-riding on your TV), the Vision R70 is not compatible with the Passport player.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a super-comfortable recumbent bike that you can place anywhere in your home – you’ll probably be very happy with the Vision R70 bike.
It’s built to be comfortable, smooth and extra-quiet with everything you need for a good, basic workout.
It isn’t overly fancy – and quite frankly for this price point you would just expect to get more. However it would probably be fine for some people who really like the Vision name and don’t care about a lot of bells and whistles.
